School Social Work Week Day 4 !

Exciting News:

We have been successful in getting funding in the legislative budget for OSPI leadership of school social work! This is news that just came this week, so we don't have more details, but we have pursued this as a way to have a person at OSPI to support our profession and centralize resources and guidance about school social work roles and services. We expect districts to be seeking information about us as the funding comes available for more of our positions!  When we learn more, you'll be the first to know!

Centering WASSW in Equity & Diversity: Last night WASSW leaders completed training with VIEW Consulting. We have had several sessions learning about how we as an organization can be an inclusive space for all members' voices are welcomed. Next we have more training on specific structures to use to do the business of our organization - structures that will invite all member ideas and participation. We look forward to the coming months and connecting with you to do our work.

We are organizing an affinity group for BIPOC school social workers. If you would like to be kept informed of this work, feel free to fill out this Google form.
